THE ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS OF L’AQUILA
LEVEL I ACADEMIC DIPLOMA
THE DEPARTMENT OF VISUAL ARTS
SCHOOL OF SCULPTURE
Teaching objectives:

The academic courses of the level I Diploma of the School of Sculpture are designed to build and shape students’ artistic skills and professionalism, taking into account the pluralism of languages and innovation in techniques that characterize today, enabling them to develop their own individual line of research in the field of sculpture linked to traditional techniques and to its elaboration in an experimental context of new expressive languages.

Graduates of the school’s diploma courses will:

  • gain a suitable technical and practical command of art methods and study, as well as sculpture techniques and technology, acquiring an autonomous and personal awareness of artistic production;

  • possess suitable methodological and analytical instruments, acquiring competency in expressive languages and more advanced techniques and technology;

  • be able to communicate efficiently about their field of interest and be able to exchange information of a general nature in at least one of the languages of the European Union, besides their own;

  • possess suitable skills and tools for communication and information management, in particular, in the field of computer science.

Work prospectives: Graduates from the School will be able to work professionally in a variety of sectors as freelance artists, and in the field of visual arts and creative activities. They will also be able to collaborate, in the many applied fields, in the programming, design and implementation of sculpture in traditional fields as well as in the fields of architecture and urban planning as well as the sectors of restoration, and in sectors using new technology and nationally and internationally recognized linguistic expressions. The Academy organizes suitable placements and work experience opportunities in collaboration with public and private organizations to give students the opportunity to gain professional experience in their field of interest. In addition, the Academy sets up specific training modules for each course.
Entry requirements Entry requirements::
